JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

• Welcome customers coming to the cash register counter in a friendly and professional manner.
• Calculate customer invoices.
• Takes in cash, checks, and credit card payments from customers; records the amounts received.
• Make change and give the customer their receipts.
• Gives customer cash refunds or credit notes for return merchandise.
• Uses the point of sales system.
• Reconciles the funds in the till every day.
• Refers customers with questions about work done, maintenance or additional repairs to the technical advisor or to another appropriate individual.
• Handles customer complaints with integrity and, if necessary, refers dissatisfied customers to the appropriate individual, so that a solution can be found to their problem.
• Keeps and files work orders, invoices for parts, and makes a list of missing documents.
• Closes all unpaid invoices.
• Assist the parts and after sales departments by performing clerical or secretarial tasks or telephone follow-up.
• Keeps up to date  on new products and services providing their features and cost, as well as price changes. 
• Maintains a petty cash system.
• Ensures that the work area is clean and tidy.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. 
• Ensures required documents are complete and in compliance with company regulation and standards.
• Answers incoming phone calls quickly and in a courteous and professional manner, and quickly resolves questions and concerns.
• Required to attend staff meetings and training sessions as requested.
• Maintains utmost company confidentiality.
